Chapter 1184:

The technician simply nodded and headed back into the lab without asking any more questions.
The smile vanished from Zane’s face immediately. “That drug doesn’t only interfere with the nervous system,” he muttered. “It also carries hypnotic properties.”
He had no intention of telling Gracie that part.
At the same time, he ruled out the suspicions he had previously held toward her.
After all, Gracie would never risk worsening Valeria’s condition just to test him.
The following morning, sunlight poured through the windows as the sun rose higher in the sky, stirring Gracie awake.
She slowly opened her eyes, pushed herself up from the sofa, and headed straight for Valeria’s bedroom.
When she pushed the bedroom door open, she found Valeria still fast asleep beneath the covers. Only then did she finally relax a little.

The maid immediately rose to her feet when she saw her enter. “Mrs. Stanley slept soundly all night. She hasn’t woken up once.”
“That’s good,” Gracie replied. “The personal doctor will arrive shortly to run some blood tests. Stay here and assist if anything is needed.”
The maid hesitated before asking, “Are you going back to rest?”
Gracie shook her head. “No. I need to stop by the hospital first. While I’m away, no one is allowed near her unless I personally approve it. Not anyone.”
After grabbing her bag, she quickly left the estate.
At the hospital, Brayden’s face darkened as Gracie explained everything that had happened.
“It’s only been one day,” he said, “and something like this already happened at home.”
“I think the entire estate needs to be investigated again,” Gracie said seriously. “Valeria’s psychological condition was already unstable. After being exposed to this substance a second time, the damage to her mental state may be permanent. There could be long-term effects.”
Hearing the exhaustion in her voice, Brayden said, “Stop worrying about this for now. I’ll let Charlie take care of the investigation. You’ve been so focused on Mom that you haven’t even realized how exhausted you are. Don’t think about anything else right now. Get some sleep.”
His gentle reassurance steadied her nerves. The fatigue she had been forcing herself to ignore suddenly crashed over her all at once.
Without arguing, she walked over to the large couch in the room, lay down, and drifted off almost immediately.
Once she was asleep, Brayden slowly rose to his feet, enduring the pain from his injuries as he stepped outside the hospital room.
Charlie was already waiting by the door. “Mr. Stanley, I’ve arranged for a full investigation. It shouldn’t take long to uncover whoever’s the spy.”
“I originally thought there was only one spy among us,” Brayden said coldly. “I didn’t expect there to be another operating behind the scenes as well.” His eyes turned colder. “It’s time I paid Eaton a visit.”
Charlie frowned. “But sir, with your injuries in your current state…”
“I can manage,” Brayden said sharply. “Take me to the Holt Group immediately. We need to return before Gracie wakes up. There can’t be any mistakes.”
