Chapter 250:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Mack, the scarred thug, let out a scornful laugh. “Kid, get lost. This is a family dispute. None of your business.” He tried the same disgusting lie again, the one that had made the other onlookers turn away.
Sonny’s legs were visibly shaking, but he took a shaky breath and yelled back, his voice cracking but clear. “Family dispute? I saw you two following this lady all the way from my office! She’s Madam Kramer, my client!”
His words hit their mark. The thugs’ expressions faltered.
They had been exposed. He wasn’t just a random stranger; he was a witness.
Seeing their hesitation, Sonny grew bolder. He turned his face toward the busier street just beyond the alley, and with every ounce of air in his lungs, he screamed.
“Kidnapping! There are kidnappers here! They’re trying to kidnap Madam Kramer!”
That word—kidnapping—was far more effective than a simple cry for help. It was specific. It was a crime in progress.
Heads turned. The distant sound of a guard’s whistle pierced the air. Two city guards started running toward our alley.

Mack and Dale cursed, their faces twisting in panic. They abandoned their plan to grab me and turned to flee down the other end of the alley.
I wasn’t about to let them get away.
I swung my heavy handbag with all my strength, smashing it into Dale’s face. At the same time, I shot my foot out, tripping Mack.
They went down in a tangled, groaning heap, just as the city guards charged in and pinned them to the ground.
The danger was over. My breath came out in a ragged gasp.
Sonny rushed to my side, his eyes wide with concern as he looked me up and down. “Madam Kramer, are you alright? Are you hurt?”
I shook my head, my heart filled with a profound sense of gratitude and surprise. “I’m fine, Mr. Sawyer. Today, you saved my life.”
My words made his face flush a deep red. He waved his hands frantically, stammering that it was just what anyone would do.
I turned my attention to Mack, who was being held down by a guard. My expression turned to ice.
I walked over and crouched down beside him, my voice a low whisper only he could hear. “Who sent you?”
He spat on the ground near my shoe. “You wish, bitch. We’re not talking.”
A cold smile touched my lips. I reached out, pretending to adjust his collar. My fingertips pressed with surgical precision against a nerve cluster in his neck—a technique I had learned in my years of medical training, knowing exactly where pressure would cause the most pain without leaving a mark.
A strangled scream tore from his throat as paralyzing pain shot through his entire body. He convulsed, sweat beading on his forehead.
The guards watched, stunned, but didn’t interfere. They could feel the cold authority radiating from me.
“Who?” I asked again, my voice flat.
The pain broke him. He gasped, his body trembling violently. “It was… it was Miss Kramer… Charly Kramer! She paid us to take you to the abandoned cabin outside the city!”
I released the pressure and stood up.
