Chapter 762:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
As soon as Cayson left, Julian called in one of his personal doctors.
Because of Laurence’s ongoing health problems, Julian had assembled a trusted medical team—experts who were not only highly skilled but also knew how to keep their mouths shut.
He handed the doctor a copy of Jillian’s previous diagnosis.
“Based on your experience, what could be causing her symptoms?”
The doctor squinted at the report.

“There are hundreds of possibilities here, Mr. Nash. It’s complicated. Without proper testing—labs, machines—I can’t draw any solid conclusions from this summary.”
Julian’s brow twitched.
“If I could just bring her in, would I be asking you this?”
The doctor tilted his head, curiosity piqued.
“Is she yours? A child from a past relationship?”
Julian went silent.
The doctor raised a hand lightly.
“Don’t worry. I know how to keep things quiet.”
Julian wasn’t in the mood to entertain this anymore.
“You can go, too.”
Later that afternoon, Julian’s phone rang. The call came from the family estate. Laurence’s voice came through in short, breathless bursts.
“You have a kid out there and didn’t tell me? Julian, are you trying to send me to the grave?”
For a moment, Julian said nothing.
Unbelievable.
Was he surrounded by blabbermouths?
Worried Laurence might show up unannounced at the office, Julian drove straight home.
He hadn’t even pulled into the driveway properly when Laurence appeared outside, shouting,
“Julian!”
Even through the closed window, Julian could hear him loud and clear. A man who usually needed help just to sip water had apparently leapt out of bed the moment he heard about a grandchild.
Julian inhaled slowly and stepped out of the car.
The doctor from earlier was already helping Laurence stay upright. As soon as he caught sight of Julian, he quickly said,
“Mr. Nash, I didn’t tell him. This wasn’t on me.”
Before Julian could speak, Laurence’s cane came down on his shin.
“Who’s the mother? Is it Kathy? You had a child and didn’t marry her? How could you treat her like that? And you kept it from me—why? Are you planning to abandon Kathy altogether?”
Seeing Laurence’s face turning pale, Julian shot a look at the doctor.
The doctor got the hint and quickly guided Laurence inside, already reaching for the blood pressure meds.
Julian followed them in at a steady pace, not planning to keep anything from Laurence.
“It’s not mine. The child belongs to Colten and Katherine.”
Laurence froze mid-step.
Julian took advantage of the pause to hand him the blood pressure pills.
But Laurence batted his hand away, his face lighting up with sudden energy.
“Are you serious? Finally, I’m a grandfather! So, what is it, a boy or a girl? And how old?”
Julian, deadpan, took the pills back.
“Ask your golden boy yourself.”
Laurence anticipated the revelation would devastate Julian.
Nevertheless, he had long yearned for a grandchild. Upon finally receiving that fulfillment, he could hardly contain his elation.
“I’m fortunate enough to witness grandfatherhood before departing this world.”
