Chapter 250:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Do you think Zeo is going to stay?” Leo asks.
“Yeah, I think he will, but I think he’s going to stay with Zoey at the cabin,” I tell him.
“Yeah, that’s a good plan,” he agrees, but then a dark look crosses his face.
“What’s with the look? What’s wrong?” I ask.
“I love you, mia cara,” he says before he captures my lips and kisses me.
Lena’s POV:
The next day, everyone in the house was up early. We were all packed up and ready to go.
We said our goodbyes to Richard and Elijah’s other two friends, who decided to stay behind. Richard offered them jobs as part of a covert team. He offered Mark the job too, but he declined, and I know it was because of Phoebe.
We left the house, and everyone piled into two SUVs that Richard had provided. In one car were me, Leo, Brie, and Zeo, and in the other were Elijah, Freya, and Vincent. Richard also arranged for drivers to bring the cars back.
“I can’t believe we’re finally leaving,” I said out loud.
“I can’t believe I’m finally going to see another part of the world,” Phoebe said, and I turned to look at her. She was seated between me and Leo.
“Have you been on a plane before, Pheebs?” I asked, but I had a feeling I knew what her answer would be.
“No, I haven’t. I know what they look like—I’ve seen pictures—but I’ve never been on one before,” she said.
Leo took her hand. “Well, you’re getting on one now, kiddo, and you’ll have many more flights in your future,” Leo told her, and she smiled at him.
It took us about two hours, but we finally arrived at the private airstrip where Leo’s jet was parked.
“I thought there would be more people,” Phoebe said as we got out of the car.

“Well, sweetie, there are more people at an airport, but this isn’t one. This is a private jet,” I explained to her.
“Oh… okay, I get it,” she said, then walked toward the other car to meet Mark. I could hear Leo growl behind me.
“Stand down, papa bear,” I said, still smiling.
“How are you okay with this? He’s too old for her,” Leo said, his eyes still on Phoebe and Mark.
“Because nothing is happening. It’s just a teenage crush. I talked to Mark, and he said he sees her as a sister. Even if something were to happen between them, I trust him to wait until she’s ready and, of course, of age. Plus, with the big bad Alpha as her guardian, there’s no way he’ll do anything to hurt her.” I tell Leo, and my explanation seems to calm him down a little.
“I guess you’re right, but I still don’t like it. When we get home, he’s staying with Zeo,” Leo says firmly.
“That’s fine by me,” I reply, and we all grab our suitcases and bags, heading toward the plane. We stow our bags in the overhead compartments, and everyone takes their seats. I make sure Brie sits beside me for two reasons: one, so she can have the window seat and look at the clouds, and two, because I know there’s no way Leo would be able to contain himself if she sat next to Mark throughout the flight.
The pilot makes the announcement that we’re about to take off, so we all fasten our seatbelts. A few minutes later, the plane lifts off. Brie is nervous at first, gripping my hand, but once the plane reaches cruising altitude and we’re allowed to remove our seatbelts, she calms down and starts admiring the clouds outside her window, almost in disbelief at how close they are.
“They’re so close I could almost touch them,” Phoebe whispers. I smile at her, happy that she’s starting to experience life to the fullest.
I turn to look at Leo and notice he’s staring at me with a wild look in his eyes. “Don’t look at me like that, Leo. There’s nothing you can do about it,” I tell him.
“Oh, there’s plenty I could do about it, baby,” he says with a smirk.
“No, no, no. You better keep your hands to yourself, Leo Knight. We already gave our family a show back at the house. There’s no way I’m giving them another one here on the plane,” I warn him.
“Fine, I guess I’ll have to wait until we get home before I can sink into you again. I am a patient man,” he says with a wink.
