Chapter 369:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Thinking about all three options, I realized I couldn’t live with the first two, leaving me with the third option. I then remembered that the reason Estefan and I fell apart seven years ago was because I chose my career over him.
I even went as far as to ruin my sister’s reputation for that same career. And now I was about to lose the person I loved most because of that career.
“I’m so stupid,” I muttered to myself as I wiped the lone tear that escaped from my eyes.
Standing up from the chair, I rushed back inside and found Asher on a ladder, tying up a balloon. I ran to the bottom of the ladder where Anna was standing.
“Babe, can you come down for a minute? I need to talk to you.”
“He’s busy at the moment,” Anna responded.
“Can’t it wait?” Asher asked from on top of the ladder.
“No, it can’t.”
He sighed and made his way down. “I’ll be right back,” he said to Anna, and I dragged him to the corner of the room.

“What’s going on?” He gave me a confused look.
“About what I said last night, I realized I shouldn’t have placed my career over my future,” I held his hand and smiled. “I’ve decided to change my mind about not having kids yet.”
“Leah, you don’t have to force a decision on yourself…” He started, but I cut him off.
“No, no, I’m not forcing the decision on myself,” I shook my head. “I want to do this. We can have as many kids as you want.”
“Really?” He grinned from ear to ear.
“Yes,” I nodded before letting go of his hand and wrapping my arms around his neck. “So about that house you were talking about, should we go check it out when we get back home?”
“Sure.” He captured my lips with his. “I love you,” he whispered against my lips when we pulled apart.
“Finally, she came to her senses,” Rhea shouted, and I turned to see everyone staring at me with smiles on their faces.
“Thank you, guys,” Asher shouted back, and I glanced at him with wide eyes.
“Did they know about this?”
“Rhea was the one who told me you couldn’t handle silent treatment and made me use it against you,” he pointed an accusing finger at Rhea.
Rhea looked away, pretending she noticed something wrong with the balloons. I should have expected that their friendship wouldn’t favor me in any way.
But I was grateful they made me realize something important and saved me from making the biggest mistake of my life.
“I hate you,” I punched his chest.
“I love you too,” he pulled me into a hug, and I buried my face in his chest.
“Enough of the lovey-dovey, you two,” Rhea shouted at us. “You can start making babies later; we still have a lot of work to do.”
“I must have committed a great sin in my past life to be cursed with a younger sister like her.”
“I think she’s the best sister anyone could ever have.” He took my hand and led me to where everyone was.
“Of course, you think so,” I rolled my eyes.
