Chapter 664:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Dane broke the embrace and cupped Ava’s cheeks. “So? Have you forgiven me? Can we go back to how things were?”
Ava stared at Dane for a while, as though she was deep in thought. She lowered her head and mumbled, “It will be difficult for me to forget, but I forgive you for everything. Yes, we can go back to how things were.”
Dane chuckled and ruffled her hair, looking at her with a soft gaze. Ian tightened his fists, struggling to control his emotions. He leaned back against the wall next to the door and closed his eyes.
“Since everything is clear now, let’s go cut the cake.”
Ava let out a soft chuckle and said, “With that smile on your face, Alpha Dane, don’t forget to smile all the time.”
They both laughed together. Ian clenched his jaw and walked away before they came out.
Ava’s soft chuckles and words for Dane kept replaying in Ian’s mind as he walked back to the party.
When his friends noticed him, they tried to approach, but he didn’t speak to them as he made his way to the front door.
He stopped at the door and turned his head toward the old witch, who was watching him. He took a deep breath, looked away from her, and left the party.
A minute later, Ava and Dane returned to the party. Before they could reach the cake, which was in the middle of the hall, Carolina approached Ava.
“I have something for you,” Carolina said.
Dane gave Ava a nod, allowing her to speak with Carolina before walking toward the cake. Ava lingered behind and asked Carolina what she needed.
“Yes?”
Carolina pulled out a book from her bag and handed it to Ava.
Ava’s eyes widened when she saw the title: The Mystery of Alpha’s Rejection!
She immediately took the book in shock. Carolina gave her an upset smile and said, “I know you were my son’s mate, but he rejected you. However, he truly loves you. Please, if possible, forgive him for his past mistakes. I hope this book can help you heal from your pain.”

Ava realized that Ian hadn’t told her that they had become mates again. She lowered her head and thanked Carolina.
When Carolina joined the other guests, Ava opened the book and turned to the page she wanted to read.
Her eyes froze when she found something she had never considered. It said that if the Alpha rejected his fated mate and then accepted her again, she would perish this time.
“Ava.”
Dane’s voice reached her ears. She quickly closed the book and gestured to a waiter to take it safely.
Ava walked over to Dane. He looked at her with a smile and said, “Happy Birthday, Alpha Dane.”
He smiled back and signaled for her to join him at the cake.
