Dane was stunned. Slowly, he turned in the direction from where the knife had come.

He saw a pair of red eyes approaching him. The man wasn’t in his wolf form, but when the moonlight fell on him, Dane took a step back in surprise. He couldn’t help but speak through the mind link, “Alpha Ian?”

Ian stopped another strike that came toward Dane.
