Chapter 1535:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
She nodded, opened the bag, and tasted a small dessert. After the first bite, a gentle smile appeared on her lips. She then passed another piece to Ari.
Ari took a bite and burst into laughter. “Mom, it’s really good!”
“Isn’t it?” Millie agreed with a nod. “I like it too. Don’t forget to thank Eric for it.”
Ari turned toward Brandon, smiling brightly. “Thank you, Eric!”
Brandon gave a small nod, warmth filling his eyes as he watched their smiles. At last he had learned one of Millie’s little preferences.
Myron approached, lifted Ari into his arms, and nodded politely toward Brandon. He then reached for Millie’s hand.
“The car is waiting outside. We should get going,” he said.
“Okay!” Millie answered with a soft smile. She cast one final glance at Brandon. “We’ll be heading out now. Bye.”
Brandon nodded in response.
With that, they went their separate ways. Millie and Myron walked forward hand in hand, with Ari resting comfortably in Myron’s other arm. They talked softly as they walked, smiling every now and then, content and joyful to be together as a family of three.

Brandon watched them fade into the distance without blinking.
Inside the car, Ari sat between them. The driver started the engine and headed home. Snow covered everything outside, while inside the car was warm. After all the excitement and activity, Ari soon drifted into sleep.
Millie gazed at her daughter’s peaceful face and reached out, lightly tapping her cheek with a tender smile. Ari smacked her lips in her sleep and did not wake, which made Millie giggle.
Myron’s gaze moved from Millie to Ari, and then he leaned over and placed a quick kiss on Millie’s lips.
Millie immediately glanced toward the driver’s seat and lightly pushed Myron away, her cheeks flushed.
The driver said nothing, but then the privacy screen began to rise. She shot Myron an annoyed look when she saw it.
“He saw it,” she whispered.
“You didn’t seem bothered when Taylor saw you kiss me earlier,” Myron replied with a teasing smile.
“That’s not the same,” Millie shot back, glaring at him again.
“And how exactly is it different?” Myron asked, his smile growing even wider.
Millie looked at him for a moment, poked him again, and the two of them broke into uncontrollable laughter. Ari turned over between them as their laughter filled the car.
They laughed until they were out of breath. At last Myron wrapped his arms around Millie, gently patting her back to help her calm down. He carefully moved Ari to one side so he could hold Millie properly.
When they grew quiet, Millie rested against Myron’s chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat and feeling a deep sense of calm.
“Millie,” Myron said in a low voice, “once the weather clears in a few days, let’s go to East Mountain.”
He remembered climbing East Mountain, dropping to his knees every few steps as he prayed for her to recover. Now that she was healthy and by his side, it felt only right to return and offer his gratitude.
