Chapter 2139:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Tears quickly filled her eyes as well, and she struggled to her feet, trying to rush forward while pleading, “Please help me! Save me…”
The chains around her wrists and ankles clanked loudly, holding her back and preventing her from getting any closer.
With no way to reach Kenia, Sarai could only remain where she was, sobbing helplessly. “Please, I’m begging you to save me. I know I made a mistake. Please talk to Belinda and ask her to forgive me just this once. I really regret it. I was set up, and that’s why I turned against her. I never meant for things to end like this…”
Even as Sarai broke down, Kenia kept her composure, though her reddened eyes gave her emotions away.
“Blaming others won’t change anything. If you hadn’t reached for things that weren’t yours, you wouldn’t be in this situation now. This is something you’ve brought on yourself.”
Sarai was caught off guard by how merciless Kenia sounded.
“Grandma, you—” Sarai tried to say something, but Kenia cut her off without hesitation.
“Don’t call me that,” she said, her gaze turning icy. “From this moment on, nothing is tying us together. I’ll consider it as if I never took you in at all.”

A slow breath left her lips, and she fixed Sarai with a look of clear revulsion. “One moment of compassion turned into the worst mistake I’ve ever made. I never asked you to stay loyal forever or treat us like your true family, but I never imagined that a simple act of kindness would nearly bring harm to my own granddaughter.”
Regret settled deep within Kenia.
If time could be reversed, she wouldn’t have made the same decision to take Sarai in.
Each word struck Sarai with crushing force.
Her teeth pressed into her lip until the color drained from it. Silence filled the space between them, and tears streamed endlessly down her face.
Remorse consumed Sarai completely.
Everything had unraveled because of a single wrong choice.
If only she could turn back time…
With a trembling breath, Sarai lifted her tearful eyes toward Kenia and pleaded, “I know I made a huge mistake. I’ve spent so much time thinking about it, and I understand you don’t want anything to do with me anymore. I get that. But for the sake of the years you raised me and kept me by your side, could you help me just this once? If Belinda can forgive me, I swear I’ll disappear from her life entirely. I’ll go somewhere far away where none of you will ever see me again, and I won’t return to Owathe. Would that be alright?”
This was Sarai’s final chance, the last hope she could cling to.
She knew Kenia had always been soft-hearted. If she begged a little longer, Kenia might eventually give in and agree to help her.
As long as Kenia relented, she would still have a way out.
