Chapter 541:

Yet the way he was acting now went far beyond what she’d expected.
“Willie, are you trying to play both sides?” Hayley asked, her eyes narrowing as she studied him closely. “Tell me the truth. Have you already gone back to Harold?”
A distressed look crossed Willie’s face. “Please don’t joke about this. I truly want to continue working with you.”
This time, his tone carried real sincerity. “I don’t have looks, and I’m no longer young. Even though my father-in-law is a board member, he has never valued me. You’re the only one who made me feel respected. Even if you were using me, that small bit of respect was enough for me to be grateful.”
Genuine surprise showed on Hayley’s face. She’d never expected someone like Willie to speak so earnestly.
“Alright, I’ll take your word for it,” Hayley said with a nod. She stepped forward and gave his shoulder a light pat. “But I need you to remain in the company.”
Willie went quiet for a brief second, and then he caught on to what Hayley truly meant. “Miss Morgan, do you already have a plan?”
Hayley gave a small nod. “I need you to remain in HR and cover for Allie and Luna. They both have their own kind of ‘talent.’ From this point forward, make sure every critical task lands on their desks.”
A spark of understanding crossed Willie’s face. It seemed she was about to pull the strings from the shadows.
The moment Allie and Luna joined Morgan Group, Willie already had them figured out. To him, those two women were nothing but trouble waiting to happen.
They were clueless about the group’s operations, yet they kept up the act as if they understood everything. They spent their days putting on airs, and this had already made many employees resent them.

If those two were allowed to stay, the company’s inner workings would eventually fall apart.
“Please don’t worry, Miss Morgan. I’ll see this through until the end,” Willie said with quiet certainty.
Soon after, Hayley turned her attention to Violet. She took a brief moment, and then said, “Get your belongings together and come with me.”
“Understood, Miss Morgan. I’ll pack my things immediately.”
The instant Violet arrived back at her desk, a coworker approached. It was Kylie Nash.
“I just got word about what happened. Miss Morgan has already been pushed out of the company, and they are preparing a public statement to completely cut her off.” She looked at Violet with concern. “You need to go speak with management right away. Tell them you had no idea what was going on and that you were simply doing your job. That way, you might avoid getting caught up in this.”
A serious look settled on Violet’s face. “I appreciate you telling me, Kylie. But I’ve already decided that I’ll stand with Miss Morgan, no matter what happens.”
