Chapter 1122:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Danica held two gift boxes tightly in her hands. “Ms. Scott,” she greeted, her tone stiff and tentative. Even the way she addressed Hannah had changed.
Hannah glanced up from her desk, her eyes cool and impassive as they landed on Danica. With a gesture, she dismissed Meagan, then got straight to the point. “What sort of trouble are you trying to cause this time?”
Her words were blunt and far from polite.
A wave of embarrassment washed over Danica’s face. She hurriedly pushed the gifts forward, her voice strained. “No, you’re mistaken! I truly came just to thank you. If you hadn’t stepped in at the wedding, who knows what Vera would have done to me…”
She trailed off, her body shuddering at the memory. Once again, she offered the gifts. “These are just a small gesture of my appreciation. Please accept them.”
Hannah glanced at the boxes but made no move to take them. “Put them over there,” she said coolly, nodding at the table nearby.
Danica placed the boxes where she was told, but instead of leaving, she lingered awkwardly, shifting her feet and stealing nervous glances at Hannah.
Hannah had already returned her attention to the documents on her desk. After a few moments, sensing that Danica was still there, she finally looked up. “Is there something else?”

“N-no, nothing important,” Danica stammered, wringing her hands as her eyes darted around the room. “I just… I wanted to check in on you. You seem to have lost some weight. Have you been pushing yourself too hard? You should take better care of yourself.”
The words tumbled out clumsily, a flimsy attempt to mend old wounds.
Hannah could hardly believe it. This was the same woman who had once gone out of her way to humiliate her, ruin her happiness, and conspire with strangers against her. And now Danica was worried about her health?
Hannah had no patience for games. Her voice turned colder. “If you’re here to fish for the Jones Group shares, don’t bother. Those shares will go back to Vincent when the time is right, and that decision is final. I won’t be transferring them to you, no matter what.”
Danica’s face drained of color, panic written across her features. She shook her head rapidly, hands waving. “No, really, that’s not it! I promise, I never wanted those shares. They belong to Vincent alone; they’re what Sharon and Vincent worked so hard for. I would never dream of taking what isn’t mine.”
Danica’s voice dropped, heavy with remorse. “I really do see where I went wrong. My actions nearly destroyed a legacy that took the Jones family a hundred years to build.”
Hannah said nothing, simply watching her in silence.
Sensing Hannah’s skepticism, Danica hesitated, biting her lip as though weighing a difficult choice, before asking carefully, “Hannah, I just want to know… is there any chance you and Vincent might ever get back together?”
At those words, Hannah’s brows drew together sharply.
