Chapter 484:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Ryan poured a glass of water for Micah, trying to soothe him. “Calm down, man. This anger will only consume you from the inside.”
Micah ignored the water, lost in his thoughts as he stared blankly at the table.
Why was Darya slipping further away from him?
They had shared a beautiful week on the deserted island, and he had even saved her life.
Yet, the ice in her heart showed no signs of thawing.
And what secrets was Darya hiding from him?
Micah’s mind was a whirlwind of questions, leaving him utterly perplexed and unsure of what to do.
“You’re the only one who can cause this much pain to yourself, all because of Darya,” Ryan whispered, contemplating his next move. “Maybe I should give her a call, get her to come here.”
Micah’s glare pierced through Ryan. “Don’t you dare!”
Ryan immediately recoiled, raising his hands in surrender. “Hey, hey! Of course, I wouldn’t do anything without your permission.”
“But, Micah, my friend, you’re the pride of the Cavanaughs, the president of Zenith. Why does the same woman always bring you down like this? Show me the courage you have in the business world,” Ryan pleaded, feeling lost as he witnessed Micah’s unprecedented vulnerability.
Micah’s heart shattered further upon hearing Ryan’s words.
He forced a bitter smile, grabbed the wine on the table, and downed it in a single gulp.
Despite being seen as the golden child and a successful tycoon in the business world, he couldn’t even hold onto his wife, let alone take care of her.
It made him feel utterly useless.
He had tried to leverage his strength in business, approaching Darya with deals she couldn’t possibly turn down.

But his plan had backfired and only pushed Darya further away.
“I don’t know what to do,” Micah whispered, his voice laced with sorrow.
Ryan sighed, commiserating. “Love is the most complicated thing, Micah. Sometimes, it slips away from you when it’s right in front of your eyes.”
He quickly regretted his words as Micah shot him a piercing glare. “That was a stupid thing to say,” Ryan mentally scolded himself, wishing he could retract his words.
“You’ve had enough to drink. Time to stop. I won’t let you go home like this,” Ryan insisted, stopping Micah from reaching for another bottle of wine. “If you won’t stop, I’ll call Darya to come here. What do you think she’ll say when she sees you all pie-eyed, hmm?”
Micah, lost in his own pain, had no energy left to argue with Ryan. All he wanted was to drown his sorrows and numb the ache in his heart.
