Chapter 485:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Little did he know, alcohol couldn’t silence longing and love—it only made him miss Darya more.
Two and a half bottles of cask-strength whiskey later, Micah was completely out of it.
“Darya…” He was sprawled on the sofa, repeatedly calling out Darya’s name.
Ryan had anticipated this outcome and let out a heavy sigh. “You’re really in deep, Mikey boy…”
After spending the whole day out with Thomas and the others, Darya returned home, feeling a bit exhausted.
Just as she had settled into bed after a relaxing bath, she received a call from an unknown number.
“Hello, who’s this?” Darya answered coolly.
“Darya, it’s Ryan. Don’t hang up! Micah… he’s had too much to drink and won’t stop talking about you. We’re outside the gate of Verona Heights. Can you come and get him?” Ryan pleaded.
Verona Heights Estates was the gated community where the McAllister mansion stood.
“No, get lost,” Darya responded, her tone icy.
Ryan was left speechless but mustered the courage to speak before Darya hung up. “But we are already here! The security guards won’t let us in. Please, just come out and see him! Just for a sec! If you don’t come out, I’ll leave Micah at the gate. He’ll probably freeze to death. You don’t want to be responsible for his death, do you?”
Seething, Darya was about to unleash her anger on Ryan when the call abruptly ended.
So Ryan had come to pick a fight, huh?
Darya furrowed her brows, fuming with anger.

Dealing with Micah was already a challenge, but his loyal friend, Ryan, had proven to be no better.
She took a deep breath, conflicting thoughts running through her mind. Finally, she stood up, got dressed, sprinted downstairs, and out of the house.
Five minutes later, she was at the main gate.
Ryan was on the road outside, pacing near his car.
The moment he spotted her, his eyes lit up.
Before Darya could approach, Ryan opened the passenger side door, dragged out an inert figure, dumped it near a tree, then got in his car and sped off.
Darya gawked at the car’s taillights, receding fast in the distance.
He was really just going to leave Micah here? Was he out of his damn mind?
She stormed out of the gate, cursing under her breath.
“Miss McAllister,” one of the uniformed security guards called out from the guard booth. “The guy who drove off claims to know you. Says that drunk guy over there is your friend. Do you know either of them? Would you like us to call the police?”
