Chapter 503:

Jack nodded, fighting back tears as he disappeared into a sleek black Bentley.
Darya watched the car vanish from sight, letting out a silent sigh. She couldn’t help but worry about Jack’s well-being. He didn’t seem happy at home, and her heart ached at the thought.
Darya had eagerly anticipated Jack’s return, but days passed, and there was still no sign of him. She wondered where he had gone. Despite the short time they spent together, she had grown quite fond of him.
Her inquiries about Jack’s family yielded no response, only deepening the mystery surrounding his background. With her overseas business completed, Darya had to return home. She waited in vain for Jack, eventually telling the front desk to inform him that she had left if he came looking for her.
She hadn’t told Micah about her flight, so it was quite a surprise when she bumped into him at the airport.
“What a coincidence,” Micah said with a smile, his arm still bandaged from his injury.
Darya rolled her eyes inwardly, doubting that their encounter was mere chance.
“I’m going back to Hagen too. I think we’re on the same flight,” Micah said, waving the ticket in his hand.
Darya glanced at her own ticket and saw that it indeed matched his. She sighed inwardly, realizing they would be traveling together.
“Why haven’t you come to the hospital these past few days? I’ve been waiting for you,” Micah asked, his tone filled with longing.
“I’ve been really busy,” Darya replied, feeling a mix of guilt and reservation.
Micah nodded. “I get it. You had business to take care of.”
Obligated, Darya asked about Micah’s injured shoulder. She decided to show some courtesy, even though she was determined not to get back together with him.
“It’s much better now,” Micah replied, his eyes filled with tenderness. He tried to raise his arm to demonstrate but winced in pain, abandoning the effort.

Darya noticed the slight furrow in his brow and sensed his desire to impress her. “Don’t push yourself before your injury fully heals.”
Micah smiled awkwardly and sat beside Darya as they waited to board the plane. Despite the lack of conversation between them, Micah cherished their time together. They had often clashed in the past, but recently, Darya’s attitude seemed to soften toward him.
When they boarded the plane, Micah and Darya discovered their seats weren’t adjacent, much to Darya’s relief.
However, Micah approached the person sitting next to Darya and asked if they could switch seats. The stranger, a kind-looking elderly lady, stood up. “Sure.” She rose and left before Darya could say a word.
“Feeling cold?” Micah asked as the plane soared through the air, noticing Darya rubbing her arms.
