Chapter 626:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
He looked at Casey, his eyes sharp. “I want you to go to Washington personally. Brice Langley’s public identity is flawless, but I don’t believe he’s left no traces.”
Amelia listened quietly from the bed, absorbing every word. It was the first time she had been included in Garrett’s inner circle of strategy.
“Brice Langley is ruthless and far from easy to deal with,” Garrett continued. “Once we obtain solid evidence, release it without delay. Show him no mercy whatsoever.”
Casey nodded. “Understood.”
Amelia spoke up, her voice still a little hoarse. “That imposter… why would he pretend to be Brice Langley?”
Both men looked at her. Garrett explained, “That’s one of the things we need to find out. He could have a vendetta against the real Brice, or he could be using the identity to hide his true motives.”
Amelia’s expression turned thoughtful. “He hates you. He hates the Shepard family. He mentioned your mother.”
A shadow passed over Garrett’s face. “Yes. This might involve some family history that none of us know about.”

The conversation transformed Amelia. She was no longer a protected outsider, but an active participant in the plan.
Garrett’s final order to Casey was clear. “Before I get back, I want the best security team you can find guarding this floor. Twenty-four hours a day. Not even a fly gets in.”
“Get back?” Amelia caught the phrase instantly. “Where are you going?”
Garrett took her hand. “I have to take care of some family business. I’ll be back soon.” He was going to have a long-overdue talk with Clarence, to mend the rift and consolidate all their resources against their common enemy.
Amelia didn’t press him. She chose to trust him.
Casey left immediately, understanding the gravity of his mission. The honor and safety of the Thornton family were at stake.
Before leaving the room, Garrett leaned down and kissed Amelia’s forehead. “Wait for me.”
Amelia watched him go, feeling for the first time that they were true partners in this fight.
She picked up her phone and began searching for every piece of public information on “Brice Langley” and the “Langley family.” She would join this war in her own way.
On his way to the airport, Casey booked a flight to Washington, D.C. and sent a text to Sterling Langley: “Tomorrow. 10 a.m. Four Seasons coffee shop. Come alone.”
Meanwhile, Garrett walked into Clarence’s temporary office in another wing of the hospital.
The two brothers sat opposite each other, the air still thick with tension.
Garrett spoke first, his voice quiet but firm. “Clarence, thank you for saving them. But this can never happen again.”
Clarence looked at his brother and nodded slowly. “I accept your criticism. Now, can we talk about how we’re going to make Brice Langley disappear from the face of the earth?”
The crack in their bond began to mend in the face of a shared enemy.
Clarence laid out all the intelligence he had gathered on the fake Brice, including his complex connections within the Langley family.
Together, they began to forge a more thorough, more lethal plan for revenge.
