Chapter 2370:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Upon reaching an agreement, the embassy worker guided them to the hospital, where he would wait outside as they underwent the test.
As the needle pierced the skin of the two children, their cries pierced Annabel’s heart.
“They’re crying so sadly. Could I comfort them? I promise I won’t take them away or cause any harm,” Annabel pleaded, her maternal instincts stirred by the sound of their distress.
The man regarded Annabel thoughtfully before ultimately nodding. “Okay.”
Taking one of the children into her arms, Annabel suddenly remembered that one of them had a birthmark. She checked the child’s shoulder but found no birthmark.
With no other option, she placed all her hopes on the DNA test result.
As she comforted the baby, she felt a wave of familiarity and longing, missing her own child deeply. While holding the baby, she even called them by her own child’s name.
Observing this, the man seemed to gain a better understanding of Annabel’s situation.

They sat quietly, waiting for the test results.
“I apologize for my behavior earlier. Seeing you with the baby just now, I could see that you’re a devoted mother,” the man said sincerely, making Annabel smile.
“Every mother is devoted. I have been separated from my children for over two months now. During this time, I have missed them terribly. I hope you can understand,” Annabel replied.
Johan comforted her. “Relax. The results will be out soon.”
Engaging in casual conversation, Annabel asked, “Where is the mother?”
Her question seemed to agitate the man, who averted his gaze and replied curtly, “Sorry, I can’t tell you.”
Respecting his response, Annabel did not press further, and they waited quietly for two hours until the test results were ready. The reports confirmed that the two babies were indeed related to Annabel, establishing her as their mother. Johan handed each of them a copy of the report.
“You two can take a look,” he said.
The man, already aware of the outcome, remained composed as he read the report.
However, Annabel could not contain her emotions. Tears streaming down her face, she gazed at the two children. Though relieved to have them back, she hesitated to approach them.
“Are they truly mine? Really? Haven’t they been…” Annabel’s mind swirled with unanswered questions.
But her joy was palpable.
Gratefully, Annabel held the man’s hand, expressing her gratitude. “Thank you. Thank you for rescuing my children and caring for them so well.”
Despite leading a modest life, the man had taken excellent care of the children.
The man placed the two children into Annabel’s arms, allowing her to cradle them tenderly. “They belong to you. I’m returning them to you now.”
After those words, the man prepared to leave.
However, Johan stepped forward and stopped him. “Please wait a moment. We still have much to learn about the condition of the children. Let’s discuss this further when we return to the embassy.”
Johan anticipated the man’s reluctance, yet to his surprise, the man agreed without hesitation.
