Chapter 2391:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
In a haze, Rupert pleaded, “I know I was wrong. I still love you and care about you. Can you give me another chance to start over?”
Annabel refused to believe anything a drunk person said. If Rupert had said that while sober, she might have considered it. But coming from Rupert in his drunken state, she could not take his words to heart.
But his drunkenness, combined with past hurts, made her wary. If Rupert had approached her sober to discuss their issues, perhaps things would have been different. Now, everything felt too late.

Thus, she dismissed his plea as unreliable.
“Sleep well. If you get thirsty, there’s water by the bed. I hope you’ll leave my house as soon as you wake up. We have nothing to do with each other now.”
Annabel remained unmoved. Rupert’s words did not sway her.
Still groggy, Rupert protested, “This is my house. Where should I go? You are my wife. Don’t you remember how deeply we loved each other? What about our children?”
There was a hint of sorrow in his voice as he struggled to hold back tears.
He seemed lost in his memories, muttering about the past.
“We were so happy back then. We went wherever we wanted and achieved whatever we set out to do. I regret everything now. Can’t you give me another chance? I promise to love you properly and not repeat my past mistakes.”
Annabel listened to Rupert’s plea but continued to struggle against his grip. She realized he was still holding her tightly, and that only angered her more. If she had been composed before, now she was furious.
“Don’t bother telling me this. It’s pointless. You can confide in Flora or anyone else. They’re all more reliable than I am. I mean nothing to you. If I really mattered to you, you wouldn’t have just shown up out of the blue at the signing.”
Annabel became more and more emotional as she spoke. Tears began to well up in her eyes.
She remembered the day the media reporters laughed at her. That day, she felt deeply humiliated, especially when she saw Flora’s calm smile. She could still recall how Flora gloated afterward, all because of Rupert.
And now Rupert was asking for reconciliation. How could Annabel possibly trust him?
“Let go of me. You’re drunk. If you don’t stop, I’ll kick you out,” Annabel exclaimed.
Hearing this, Rupert finally released her. Annabel stood up quickly, no longer wanting to engage with him. All she wanted was to put some distance between them.
She had no desire to hear him out, as his sweet words rang…
His words now felt hollow and like mockery, only adding to her discomfort. When Rupert began to bother her again, Annabel didn’t respond. Instead, she headed for the door, put on her shoes, grabbed her bag, and collected her clothes.
“You can stay here tonight, but I hope not to see you tomorrow.”
