Chapter 1212:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Kimberly, do you really have to take such a risk?” Lowe asked, his unease evident.
Kimberly held his gaze for a long moment, then turned forward, her eyes hardening. She nodded slightly. “It’s time to settle the score between me and her.”
The next day, the atmosphere in the luxurious hotel was nothing short of breathtaking. The garden was exquisitely decorated, with the assistant guiding the staff in arranging the freshly flown-in roses. Guests had started to trickle in, forming small groups and chatting animatedly. The air was buzzing with excitement and laughter, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
In the dressing room upstairs, Kimberly sat quietly in her white wedding dress, patiently allowing the makeup artist to do her work. Her expression was solemn, her eyes occasionally flicking to the ticking clock on the wall.
There was just half an hour left until the time she had set with Eulalia. If Chris didn’t show up…
The dressing room door burst open with sudden force. Kimberly lifted her gaze, catching sight of a towering, commanding figure approaching through the reflection in her vanity mirror.
The makeup artist froze mid-stroke, her brow furrowing. “Who are you?”
Chris stood in the doorway, his black tailored suit impeccably fitted against his frame, a crisp white shirt contrasting with a dark tie that completed his ensemble. An aura of intensity radiated from him as he moved deliberately toward Kimberly, each step measured and purposeful. His eyes, slightly reddened at the edges, betrayed his emotional state, while his voice emerged low and ragged. “You look breathtaking in your wedding dress.”
Kimberly held his gaze through the mirror for what felt like an eternity before slowly rising to her feet. With a subtle gesture, she dismissed the makeup artist, then turned to face Chris directly. “You finally came. I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”
Chris’s expression shifted, a flicker of surprise crossing his features. “Waiting for me?”
“Yes! I was waiting for you.”

Without time for further explanation, Kimberly seized his hand and hurried from the dressing room. They slipped through the hotel’s rear exit and into a waiting car she had arranged beforehand. Once inside, she pressed the accelerator to the floor, the vehicle lurching forward with urgency.
The black Maybach devoured the highway, the speedometer needle trembling at 180 mph as they raced toward their destination.
As she navigated the winding road, Kimberly explained breathlessly, “Levi has been kidnapped by Eulalia. She threatened me, demanding I bring you to Sunset Cliff if I want to save his life.”
Upon hearing this, Chris’s brow furrowed deeply, his penetrating gaze fixed on her delicate profile as silence filled the space between them. Mistaking his silence for reluctance, Kimberly quickly added, “Don’t worry, I’ve arranged everything. I won’t let you be in danger.” She risked a glance in his direction and found Chris studying her intently. “Why don’t you say anything?” she asked.
Chris’s eyes searched hers, his voice barely above a whisper. “So, this is your plan, to lure both Levi and me out. You never intended to marry Lowe, did you?”
