Chapter 1213:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“Yes, and at this point, why are you still hung up on that?”
A laugh escaped Chris’s lips, relief and profound affection illuminating his eyes. “Kimberly, don’t you think this feels like we’re eloping?”
Kimberly remained silent, unable to formulate a response to his unexpected observation. She pushed his strange musing aside, focusing instead on the urgent matter at hand.
They soon arrived at Sunset Cliff. The moment the car screeched to a halt, Kimberly leapt out and spotted Eulalia standing perilously close to the cliff’s edge. Beside her, Levi sat bound to a wheelchair, his fate hanging in the balance as Eulalia gripped the handles. A slight, menacing smile curved her lips when she caught sight of them.
“You finally arrived.”
She glanced pointedly at her watch. “Right on time.” They had come within mere seconds of being too late. The consequences of being late were obvious.
Kimberly took several cautious steps toward them.
“If you take one more step forward, I will push him off the cliff.” Eulalia’s features remained delicately composed, a gentle smile playing across her lips as she delivered the most chilling threat with unsettling softness.
Kimberly froze mid-stride, her eyes locked on Eulalia’s deceivingly serene face. “You’ve achieved your goal. Isn’t it time to fulfill your promise?”
“Is that so?” Eulalia’s smile deepened slightly, her gaze drifting toward Chris with a disturbing gleam that spoke of hidden intentions.
Sensing the sudden shift in atmosphere, Kimberly lunged toward Eulalia without hesitation.
Just then, the crack of a gunshot shattered the tense silence behind her! In that heart-stopping moment, Kimberly’s pulse faltered. She whirled around instinctively, relief washing over her when she saw Chris still standing, unharmed.
A metallic flash caught the sunlight, and Kimberly twisted sideways just in time. The blade whispered past her, close enough to graze her shoulder, leaving a crimson trail across her skin.
Eulalia narrowed her eyes, readjusting her grip before charging again. “You’re quick to dodge.”

As Kimberly evaded the next strike, her fingers worked frantically at Levi’s bindings, desperate to move him to safety while Chris engaged with an unseen sniper lurking in the shadows nearby. The scene was extremely tense and dangerous.
“Watch out!”
Levi’s eyes widened in alarm as he summoned his remaining strength, throwing himself forward to seize Eulalia’s leg in an iron grip.
“Damn it!”
Rage transformed Eulalia’s expression, her eyes darkening to bloodshot fury. In their brief but violent exchange, Kimberly’s once-immaculate wedding dress had become a canvas of scarlet stains. If not for Levi’s intervention, Eulalia’s blade would have found its deadly mark. Consumed by wrath, Eulalia plunged her knife downward with savage force.
