Chapter 1104:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“I’ve had a change of heart. How about we cooperate? I’m not after ultimate power—just a peaceful life. Let’s make a deal,” Ashton said, smiling.
For a moment, Robert’s excitement flickered, but then he scoffed. “Too late for regrets now. I give opportunities; I don’t take requests!”
Ashton sighed, loosening his grip on the cane. “I came here hoping we could work together, but if you’re unwilling, there’s nothing more to say. I suppose, since I’m going to die anyway, there’s no reason to keep these.”
Before Robert could react, Ashton tore the two fragments into shreds.
Robert stood frozen in shock. His mind blanked, his body rigid. It wasn’t until the last piece fluttered to the floor that reality hit him. His eyes turned bloodshot, his face twisted with rage.
“You… You destroyed my key to divine power! You will pay with your life!” he roared, his voice cracking with hysteria. Just as Ashton had planned.
This was the Robert he had been waiting for—blinded by fury, reckless, and entirely unaware of the trap.
While Ashton regretted losing the Ancient Medical Secrets fragments, the trade-off was worth it. An enraged Robert was a careless Robert. And that meant Ashton had the opening he needed to execute his plan. Robert attacked in a blind rage, throwing reckless punches, completely ignoring Ashton’s counterattacks. And as he did, Ashton worked quickly and methodically, his silver acupuncture needles piercing Robert’s body one by one.
Finally, as Ashton drove the last needle into Robert’s neck, Robert’s furious fist crashed into his chest.
The impact sent Ashton flying nearly thirty feet, slamming him into the wall with such force that it left a deep dent.
Pain shot through his body as he struggled to rise. But before he could react, Robert’s cane was suddenly at his eyes.

“It’s too late to beg for mercy now. You destroyed my path to divine power, so I should kill you. But no—I’ve changed my mind. You won’t die so easily. I’ll make sure every second of your life from now on is filled with nothing but suffering. You’ll regret what you did today for the rest of your miserable existence!” Robert growled.
Ashton coughed up blood but didn’t show the slightest fear. Instead, he grinned, his expression bright and triumphant. “You’re overthinking it, Robert. You can’t do anything to me. I had already won the moment you lost yourself in anger and attacked without thinking.”
Robert found Ashton’s claim absurd. The direct hit from his most powerful strike should have done severe damage. Even though Ashton had managed to block in time, avoiding the full brunt was impossible. Robert scoffed, his lips curling into a mocking grin. “I’ll give you credit — you’re tougher than I expected. That attack should have at least cracked a few ribs, yet you’re still standing there, smirking and claiming that you’ve already won?”
Ashton’s steady gaze locked onto Robert, brimming with confidence and a trace of ridicule, as if he found Robert’s words amusing. Robert’s expression twisted further in frustration. “What’s so amusing? Do you not understand what you’re up against? I wield multiple Glorious Heritage artifacts, possess unique abilities, and have strengthened my body with the medicine recorded in the Ancient Medical Secrets. Right now, I’m untouchable. Even your grandfather, Ennis, wouldn’t have a guaranteed victory against me. You? You’re just putting on an act.”
