Chapter 1219:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Taking her advice to heart, Orlando began watching Scar with full focus.
Every single time, Scar managed to stay just out of reach of Tiger’s fists.
He noticed that Scar’s movements seemed to be getting slower, and for a moment, it looked as if Tiger was about to land a blow. But as Orlando watched even more closely, he realized that Tiger’s punches kept missing by the narrowest margin.
Tiger wasn’t naive, so he kept trying to speed up his attacks, hoping he’d finally land a punch.
Every single time, though, Scar matched his pace. No matter how quickly Tiger moved, Scar always managed to dodge at the last second, and Tiger’s efforts kept coming up short.

“Scar really is tricky. He’s always just out of reach, making Tiger miss every time,” Orlando remarked, sharing what he’d noticed with Maren.
“You’re exactly right. Scar is not nearly as tired as he looks. He’s acting, drawing Tiger in on purpose. After missing by so little again and again, Tiger will get more frustrated. Everyone watching assumes whoever gets worn out first will lose, but if Tiger thinks he has the upper hand and lets his guard down, that’s when Scar will strike.”
Maren had picked up on Scar’s real skill early on, so it wasn’t a surprise to her that Tiger was in trouble.
“Is Scar really playing him like that?” Orlando asked, a nervous feeling settling over him.
Logically, he found Maren’s reasoning sound and convincing. However, he hoped Maren was overthinking it, and that the Axe Gang and Scar weren’t so clever.
“If you don’t believe me, just check Jovanni’s reaction,” Maren suggested, knowing the truth was difficult for Orlando to accept.
As soon as Maren mentioned Jovanni, Orlando turned his attention to the Axe Gang. He immediately saw Jovanni watching the match without a hint of worry. Even though Scar seemed to be struggling, Jovanni looked as if victory was already guaranteed.
The look on Jovanni’s face told Orlando all he needed to know, and the realization settled over him like a thick fog.
Maren’s instincts had been right all along.
“You remember the rules of the Underground Fighter Combat. Every battle in the ring must be fought fairly. If anyone from the outside tries to step in, it guarantees an immediate defeat, and there will be no hope of walking away alive,” Maren reminded Orlando, who looked visibly conflicted.
“Well, forget it.”
Orlando wanted to give Tiger a heads-up but knew doing so would break the rules.
Tiger was destined to lose.
After another five minutes, Scar surprised Tiger with a sudden move. Tiger locked in, twisting his neck.
The bell sounded, and Scar claimed victory in the first round.
Maren saw it coming, her expression unchanged.
