Chapter 245:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Madam Kramer just smiled calmly and pushed the deed towards me. “Now, it needs your professional expertise to be completed, Mr. Sawyer.”
I nodded vigorously, holding the deed like a rare treasure as I rushed to the steward’s office.
I needed the steward’s signature and the agency’s seal to make the deed official.
The drama outside had ended. Barbara Croft had left satisfied, leaving behind a mess and Rick Snyder, who was still groaning on the floor.
No one helped him up. All my colleagues walked around him, their eyes filled with contempt and schadenfreude.
I walked past him without a glance. Just as Madam Kramer said, focus on your own business.
Steward Chester Perry was sighing in his office. His eyes lit up when he saw the deed in my hand.
“The Linden Street property? It’s signed?” he asked eagerly. The agency had just paid out a large sum and needed income to cover it.
I nodded. The steward didn’t hesitate, quickly signing and stamping the document.

“Well done, Sonny!” he said, clapping my shoulder, looking at me with approval for the first time. “I knew you had it in you.”
I returned to my cubicle with the executed deed. Madam Kramer was quietly drinking water, as if none of this concerned her.
“The paperwork is done,” I said, handing her a copy. “All that’s left is the payment and the title transfer. The gold will need to be counted and verified—that will take a couple of days.”
Madam Kramer nodded and stood up. “Very good. I’ll wait for your news.”
I walked her to the door, watching her leave with composure. The sunlight fell on her, and I felt like she was glowing.
I returned to the office to find all my colleagues gathered around, their faces filled with disbelief.
“Sonny, you really did it?” a colleague I was on good terms with asked.
I held up my copy of the deed like a trophy.
A suppressed cheer and whistles erupted in the office.
“I knew Rick would misjudge! That lady didn’t look ordinary at all!”
“Yeah, her clothes were simple, but her aura was extraordinary. And the questions she asked were all expert-level. Only an idiot like Rick would treat her like a pauper!”
“Sonny, you’ve struck gold this time! This commission is enough for you to buy a small flat in the city!”
They chattered on, the topic quickly turning back to Rick Snyder.
“Serves him right! How many of our deals has he stolen? He finally hit a wall this time!”
“More than a wall, I’d say a stone wall! That slap from Mrs. Croft probably knocked a year’s worth of meals out of him!”
The whole office was filled with a joyful atmosphere, like an early holiday celebration. Everyone was celebrating Rick Snyder’s downfall and my success.
I stood in the crowd, smiling and accepting their congratulations, but in my heart, I knew that all this glory came from the lady named Haven Kramer.
