Chapter 246:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Sonny Sawyer POV
I was surrounded by my fellow agents, who were joking about tossing me in the air to celebrate.
Just as the office atmosphere reached its peak, a loud bang cut through all the laughter.
BANG!
The office door was kicked open, the huge noise startling everyone.
Rick Snyder stood in the doorway, like an enraged bull.

The injuries on his face were worse than before. There were bandages on his mouth and forehead, and one eye was swollen shut to a narrow slit, but a crazy, venomous light shone from that slit.
He had clearly gone to get his wounds treated, but had heard the cheers here and come back.
The office fell silent instantly. Everyone froze as if under a spell, looking at him in terror.
Rick’s gaze swept across the room, finally locking onto me, or rather, onto the conspicuous deed copy in my hand.
“Linden Street…” he squeezed out the words through his teeth, his voice as hoarse as sandpaper. “You sold the Linden Street property?”
I instinctively hid the deed behind my back and summoned my courage. “Rick, this is my client, my deal.”
“Your client?” He let out a beast-like growl and stalked towards me. “Without me, you wouldn’t even know which way the client’s door opens! You ungrateful little bastard!”
Ignoring his own injuries, he charged at me like a mad beast, his target clearly the deed in my hand.
I stumbled backward in fear, but my desk was behind me, leaving no room to retreat.
“Rick! Are you mad? This is the office!” a fellow agent beside me tried to hold him back.
But he had completely lost his mind. He shoved the man aside, who, not as strong, stumbled and knocked over a stack of documents.
“Get out of my way!” Rick roared, his bloodshot eyes blazing.
I looked at his twisted face and smelled the strong scent of alcohol on him. He hadn’t just treated his wounds; he had been drinking!
An injured, unemployed, drunk man, blinded by jealousy, was capable of anything.
He lunged at me. I instinctively raised my arm to block him.
His hand grabbed my collar, the immense force making it hard for me to breathe, while his other hand frantically tried to snatch the deed I was clutching tightly.
“Give me the deed!” he hissed. “It’s mine! That commission is mine!”
The paper made a tearing sound as we struggled.
The office was in chaos. The female clerks screamed in terror, while the men were either trying to help or backing away in fear.
Steward Chester Perry rushed out of his office. Seeing the scene, his face turned pale. “Guards! Where are the guards!”
But it would take time for the guards to arrive.
I felt my strength draining. A corner of the deed had already been torn off by Rick.
I thought in despair, was my first deal going to be destroyed in such a humiliating way?
Just then, a cool, powerful voice rang out from the chaotic doorway.
“Stop.”
The voice wasn’t loud, but it was like an ice pick, instantly piercing through all the noise and chaos, making the temperature in the entire office drop.
