Chapter 622:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
She raised her voice. “Everything you’ve done, all of it, was just a plan to get into the Powell family. What do you really want?”
Nicole didn’t interrupt. She let Felicia run her mouth, then clapped—slow and deliberate. Her gaze carried nothing but scorn. “Wonderful. That was quite a tale.”
Jasper, propped against the headboard, watched Felicia carefully. Her logic made sense on paper. It lined up too well.
But something inside him pushed back. It didn’t matter how convincing she sounded. He just knew Nicole was his sister. Even he found it strange, how absolute that feeling was.
Felicia wasn’t about to let up. “Nicole, you’re cornered. What else do you have to say for yourself?”
Nicole tilted her head slightly. Her tone cut clean. “And who told you I gave him blood?”
Felicia froze for half a second, then broke into laughter, as if she’d just heard the punchline of a joke. “Really? You’re that desperate?” She scoffed. “The entire medical team saw it happen. Even Helga confirmed it.”
Nicole’s face didn’t shift. She had no plans to let anyone twist the truth into something shameful.
Lifting one eyebrow, she replied coolly, “Then bring someone in who was actually there.”
Right then, someone knocked. Helga stepped inside, carrying Jasper’s medication.

Sensing the tension, she paused at the door before speaking. “Mr. Powell, it’s time for your medication.”
Felicia’s eyes flickered with delight the moment she saw Helga. What were the odds? Everything was falling right into her lap. She grinned and raised her voice sweetly. “Miss Carpenter!”
Helga hesitated before answering, “Miss Beckett, did you need something?”
Felicia asked, wasting no breath. “I do. This is important, and I want the truth. On the night Jasper had surgery, did Nicole donate blood to him?”
A spike of panic hit Helga’s chest. She could still remember the moment her account balance jumped by a million.
Her eyes flicked away from Nicole. “I—yes. She did.” The lie came out quietly.
Jasper caught the slight delay in her answer. His eyes narrowed as he watched her retreat. He’d expected that reply, but something in her tone didn’t sit right. It sounded rehearsed. Forced.
Felicia turned toward the medicine tray, her grin full of triumph. “Just leave it here.”
“Yes.” Helga didn’t wait for a second invitation. She slipped out of the room.
As soon as the door closed, Felicia pivoted back to Nicole. Her voice was hard. “So? What now?”
Nicole started to respond. “That night, I—”
“Spare me,” snapped Felicia. “You donated blood but stayed quiet. That’s not normal. Most people would broadcast it to the world to win his praise.”
She stepped closer, raising her voice. “But not you. You went silent and even bribed the entire medical staff. One million each. For what? To make sure no one ever questioned your claim as a Powell?” Felicia’s tone sharpened. “Brilliant work. Careful. Calculated.”
With a flourish, she pulled out paper records and handed them to Jasper. The evidence spoke for itself—large wire transfers to both Helga and Enoch.
Her voice changed, softer, sweeter. “Jasper, don’t let that innocent face fool you.”
