Chapter 757:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
Yet the sting and crawling sensation across her skin grounded her in the truth. She was caught in Julian’s arms, tangled up in something that wasn’t new between them, but now it felt completely wrong. An adult’s act of sucking was nothing like a child’s, and Julian wasn’t holding back. The sharpness of it burned her eyes, and she blinked quickly, refusing to let the tears fall.
But even through the pain, there was relief. Her thoughts thrashed and twisted, yet her body began to relax. Julian acted as if he couldn’t get enough. The room echoed with the repetitive, almost frantic rhythm of his suckling.
Katherine clenched her jaw, shame heating her face, and glared down at him, fury barely contained. She intended to lash out, but when their eyes met, she faltered. Despite the unspeakable act he was committing, his expression showed no hint of remorse. He looked almost serene, as though he were simply offering comfort.
Katherine’s strength wavered. Heat rushed to her cheeks as shame welled up inside her.
“Julian, stop it!” she snapped, her words scraping from her throat, brittle and strained. “I swear I could kill you right now!”
Julian seemed pleased, brushing his lips across the tiny mole on her chest before rising swiftly to capture her mouth in a kiss. Katherine knew his rhythm all too well. The moment he leaned in, she bared her teeth and struck.
He pulled back just in time, and instead of him, she bit into her own tongue. Pain filled her eyes.
His lips curled upward, his voice brushing against hers. “We’re finished. Be polite—say thank you.”
Katherine spat back, “Go to hell!”
Julian barely reacted. His lips, his breath, even the air around him clung to the creamy sweetness he had stolen from her. Drunk on the scent, he backed away—and kept sucking.

Katherine thrashed against him, her voice sharp with fury. “Julian!”
For once, Julian showed a flicker of restraint, leaving a small portion for Jillian. If he didn’t, the baby would wail endlessly. He casually licked away the last drops clinging to the edge of his mouth, then pressed the thermometer against Katherine’s forehead.
Her skin was slick with sweat, her cheeks still burning, her eyes lit with a deadly glare, yet her temperature had clearly fallen. Julian didn’t speak. He simply waved the thermometer in front of her face. The mockery in the gesture was impossible to miss.
Katherine shut her eyes and turned away, her back rigid. She curled into herself, arms wrapped tight around her body, as if trying to shield herself from some monster she couldn’t name.
Once the doctor was dismissed, Julian returned with Jillian in his arms and placed her beside Katherine on the bed. He even had meals sent in.
From the doorway, Julian stood and watched. Katherine now wore one of his black shirts. The fabric hung loosely on her, making her look even smaller than usual. While most women softened and filled out after childbirth, she hadn’t changed at all.
Even though she despised him, Katherine still cleaned up after herself—packing everything neatly and wiping the table once she was done eating.
She drifted into a deep sleep, drained and worn out. By the time she opened her eyes again, dusk had settled. And the first thing she saw was Julian standing beside her.
