Chapter 760:
🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙 🍙
“You honestly think I’d step in to raise another man’s child? Dream on.”
She bit back a sigh, unwilling to let him see how lost she felt.
“Sure. Whatever you say,” she muttered, her gaze flicking around the room. “Now, can you tell me where my clothes are?”
Julian’s tone was razor-sharp cold.
“They were dirty. I tossed them out.”
A sudden, thunderous knock rattled the door, followed by the unmistakable thud of shoes and muffled voices clashing in the hallway.
“Julian Nash! Open up!” Colten’s voice cut through the chaos.
Julian’s eyes grew stormy, a faint sneer playing on his lips.
“What a show—looks like your gentleman can’t keep his composure.”

Katherine slipped into a shirt and rose from the edge of the bed, heading for the door.
Julian didn’t have a reason to hold her back, but he still tossed her a clean skirt, draping it over her without a word.
“Put this on. Unless you want Colten thinking I took advantage of you,” he said calmly.
Katherine caught the skirt, fixing Julian with a dry, lingering stare.
“Didn’t you?” she replied, her voice edged with challenge.
“Did I?”
Katherine’s expression didn’t flicker.
“It was never your turn to do it with me—and it never will be.”
Julian’s features darkened, storm clouds gathering behind his eyes.
Before Katherine could reach the handle, Colten had already forced the door open, the broken lock clattering to the floor.
The moment he saw her, he swept her into his arms, scanning her from head to toe.
“Did he touch you? Are you hurt?”
Katherine steadied him with a tired shake of her head.
“I’m fine, really. Let’s just go home—I need some rest.”
Relief swept through Colten, softening his posture.
But as he turned to lift Jillian upright, his glare shot daggers at Julian.
“I heard what happened at the hospital,” Colten said, his tone deceptively polite. “Thanks for saving Kate.” He thrust out a hand, all forced civility. “If you’re free, I’d like to buy you dinner sometime.”
Julian’s voice was icy.
“I’ll pass. I have zero interest in sharing a table with some loser who can’t even keep his own woman safe.”
Colten’s reply was calm, his words as precise and unhurried as falling rain.
“Look at yourself, stealing your brother’s woman—how much lower can you get?”
From behind, Katherine’s voice cut through the tension.
“Let’s get out of here, Colten.”
Colten didn’t hesitate. He slipped an arm around the child and took Katherine’s hand, leading them both away without a backward glance.
The door clicked shut, leaving Julian alone with the silence. Victory felt hollow, nothing but a bitter aftertaste.
Back home, Katherine headed straight for the shower, letting the hot water wash away the day.
As soon as she stepped out, she called the dealership, ordering them to deliver a luxury car to Julian—her attempt at compensation.
Later, the driver arrived at Julian’s place.
